One of our favorite annual events! Through a sign up genius, we will gather the necessary items and assemble baskets containing everything a family needs for their Thanksgiving dinner including drinks, seasonings, roasting pans, canned goods, a turkey AND a ham, and pumpkin pies for dessert! We will organize the items, assemble 24 meal baskets, and then families will take a basket and personally deliver to one of the families on our list.  Many people are looking for a way to help others during this time of year, so you’re encouraged to pass along our SignUp to friends and family. There are slots to donate $ to cover items that we buy in bulk (turkeys, hams, pies, and laundry baskets used for assembly), so even people who don’t live locally can contribute!

Bedtime Project Prep Party

It's time to be an ELF! The Bedtime Project Prep party is like Sant's workshop in KC! We will organize gift bags, sort gifts, assemble dental kits and hot cocoa bags, and wrap HUNDREDS of gifts!! Everything gets sorted into bags for each of the 100 kids who will be at the Bedtime Project on December 7. Come be a part of the behind-the-scenes magic that allows the Bedtime Project to spread holiday cheer to so many kids!

 

Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP by December 1 so we can plan accordingly for dinner.

Our December Bedtime Project is our biggest annual events and is serving more kids than ever!! We partner with Phoenix Family (an organization that provides services to low-income families) to make the holidays brighter for over 100 kids in the after-school programs at 4 of their residential properties around the KC area. While this event originally started with just PJs and books (hence the name Bedtime Project), it has now grown to provide each child with new PJs, a warm blanket, a pillow and pillowcase, a gift, a board game, books, socks and underwear, winter hats & gloves, and a toothbrush and toothpaste.  We go to East Hills Village for an afternoon PJ party including games, crafts, dancing, a DJ, face painting, and more. It all ends with the kids receiving their GIANT bags of gifts that have been purchased and wrapped just for them! This is a great opportunity for our kids to realize that there are so many out there without some of the basics that we take for granted, but also to realize that they’re all kids and are more alike than different in the end.

This project relies heavily on outside support so please share the SignUp with friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.!

College is a stressful time for young adults, and they need to know that they are loved! We are collecting items to be assembled into "College Care Kits" that will be sent to college students around the country!
